"Dear Mr & Mrs <Danneskjold> (Name changed to protect the innocent...),

The loyalty of past guests like you is so very important in keeping SeaDream a healthy family owned company. We, like o the r passenger shipping firms, are experiencing the effects of the global economic downturn, and for the first time in our 8 year history we are seeing a slower pattern in future bookings. When companies are in such positions the y tightly monitor every expense and carefully consider every move.

So here is what we have come up with! We want to provide our past guests with the best tariffs as we adjust prices to meet demand. Our past guests love our excellent crew, fine cuisine and our unique yachting experience. By policy we want to reward those who have been loyal to us and sailed previously! At the same time we want to expose our product to new travelers. Who better the n to have satisfied past guests recommend us? In doing so everybody benefits with an extraordinary value!

I know that you are already booked to sail with us in the future and want to thank you for doing so! I would like to encourage you to invite friends who have not sailed with us to join you. Merely introduce SeaDream to your family and friends who have not been on SeaDream previously! If you get just one couple to join you I will extend to you and your friends a 5% savings if the y travel with you on the same voyage. Every stateroom (up to 5 maximum) added on the same voyage will also result in you saving an additional 5% (your savings increases as more couples join you….again we favor our past guest). You can save up to an additional 25% off the tariff you have paid for your upcoming voyage.

For instance, if you travel in one stateroom and friends and family join you in three additional staterooms you will receive 5% savings for each additional stateroom resulting in a total savings of 15% off the rate you have already paid for your stateroom. “Bring Family and Friends Along” is what we have named this special past guest promotion.

To book your family and friends to join you call your travel professional or SeaDream on / or before December 1, 2008 and let us know that you are ready to “Bring Family and Friends Along”."

My wife and I are booked on our first cruise ever - on SDI in Jan. We received the same mass mailing e-mail even though we are not past customers.
I had asked the question several weeks ago in another thread -"Does SeaDream ever cancel cruises because of lack of passenger signup?"
I hope this is not the case, but we are in an entirely different economic downturn scenario now, and probably is going to get worse!
