I have no idea what the prices are of Signature Cocktails on board but you can purchase a 'Cocktail Card good for 10 Signature Cocktails for $64.69 before you cruise. Is that a good deal or is it better to just purchase each one seperate on board? Also you can purchase an Explorations Cafe Coffee Card good for 10 coffee drinks for $29.90. Do you know if that is good for any coffee drink and is it worth it to purchase it before you take your curise? Going on the Oosterdam on the 15 of this month...only one week to go.:)

I had both cards on my Maasdam sailing
The cocktail card is good for any of the drinks, but the drink of the day is much cheaper and I would'nt use my card for that.
Also, I don't know if the Oosterdam offers this, but there were several times when the Crow's nest had two for one drinks and I took advantage of this (my 10 card end up being a 15 card because of this :D:D!!).
I also used my card one night at dinner.
It's was simply an easy way to handle getting a drink.
Now for the coffee card, I was just too lazy some mornings to head up there to get my coffee.
The mornings that I did use the card, I always got a grande mocha and some pastries.
I left about 4 punches on the card and placed it in my cabin Bible (cabin 554 on the Maasdam!!)
Overall I found them to be a good value and a cost that I got out the way months before hand.

Wait until you get on the ship -- then you can check out the prices of the various coffees in the Exploration Cafe and decide for yourself if it worth it.

Same thing with the Cocktail card -- go to one of the lounges -- check out the prices -- and if there are drinks that you like -- then it is worth it. Keep in mind that the Drink of the Day is made with house alcohol.

They let you use your card for the 2 fers? On the Statendam we couldn't do that. You had to pay the going rate for the one drink and then got the second one free. You couldn't use the "discounted" card for the first drink.

I bought cocktail cards too, but didn't buy anywhere near as many as I normally do once they started the 2 fer specials. I found that it worked out to my advantage to get my two cocktails during one of the Happy Hours, and then I just didn't drink much during other times. When I did, that's when I used my card. As a result, the cards lasted much longer than they normally do, and I didn't buy nearly as many as I thought I would have to for a 35-day cruise.

Signature Cocktail cards should be purchased on board as the drink server can get credit for the sale and received the service charge. The cards are a good value if you drink the signature drinks that are not the drink of the day. If you like basic coctails that cost $5.45 using the card is not a good deal but you can use the card if you want to.

The Ocean Bar on the Zaandam offered half price coctails from 4-5 every day and business was very good.:)

My DW had the coffee card on our 15 day E'dam transAtlantic and she didn't feel it was that big a bargain based on the coffees she chose. I agree that it might be better to wait and check out the prices on board before you buy one.

My friend usually orders a Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic, so perhaps a card would be good for him. I am satisfied with house Scotch and water, so it isn't for me :).
