might sound like a daft question - but do I need much spending money?

I know that all the bar and treatments etc can go on my acct to pay by debit card - but what about local currency - what do i do - a couple of hundred american dollars cover it?

I assume my excursions also go on my room bill

Just dont want to buy to many dollars with the exchange rate being awful !

Seriously though, I feel the same the exchange rate is so bad just now. wish I had got them in the summer when they were at a high. Maybe it will get better before we go, but highly unlikely so will hang on until nearer the time.

Like you and Wullie, I think we will hang on till the last minute in the hope the exchange rate gets better, but as its only just over 5 weeks I'm not holding out much hope! I don't think we will take too many dollars with us as we will really only use them for any short taxi rides and the odd drink or two! I did also read somewhere that some taxi drivers will take sterling notes so that may be an option as well.

Yes, you are right, the excursions get billed to your account. We are going to buy 2 or 3 of the excursions that we really want to do online this week just to make sure we don't miss out on them.

I aksed at the travel agents a couple of times about the excursions and they said we have to book on board ! Hope they are right.

think I will wait till I get my HUGE chrismas bonus before I change some money up ! - I wish !

Like Steve we can book our trips on line, all you need is your name and Island Cruises reference number, enter the info and it gives you the list of trips available. There are 4 we definitiley want to do so we will book them, the rest we will wait and see.

wullie - i did look the trips up but then our TA said not to book online as things change and to book on the ship............... not bothered if we dont go on any excursions really as long as we get to a beach to go snorkelling ! We have well and truly done jamaica which is the only place where I think you really need to be on an organised trip !
