As some of you may remember, we were taking a bell rope that my DH made for the Zaandam Bell.
I took the bell rope to the Neptune Lounge and the concierge said he would send the request to hang the bell rope on the ship's bell to the Engineering Dept.
The next day we received a note from the Guest Relations Manager.
Dear MR. XXXX
On behalf of Captain Sybe De Boer and Chief Office Bart Vaartje, we apologize that we are not able to accommodate your request to hang your hand made rope. It is very much appreciated the valued time you have exerted on this.
Thank you for your patronage and for sailing Holland America Line, most particularly on our vessel, the ms Zaandam.
On behalf of the Officers, Staff, and Crew on board, we continue to be at your service, and look forward to sharing the remainder of this voyage with your.

Not really sure why they declined the request but not interested in pursuing it any further.
