Since we were away on our post-cruise stay in Puerto Rico for the election, it somehow seems fitting that we'd be away for inauguration day as well. (Don't worry, we voted absentee before we left!)

Will we be able to watch the inauguration festivities onboard the Eurodam in January? No big deal if we can't, but I was just curious.

Since CNN is available I am sure you would be able to watch it.

On our Caribbean charters in February they have always shown the Academy Awards live in the theater. For this historic event they might do the same. :)

I was on the Eurodam on Nov. 4 when the election returns were coming in. There was a "watch party" held in the Queen's Lounge / Culinary Arts Center where the results were being shown on the big screen. HAL provided a big red, white and blue cake and non-alcoholic refreshments. Since they sponsored the election returns, it makes sense they would also hold a similar party for the inauguration. CNN is available in your room, if you want to watch it there.

CNN will broadcast it - You can watch it in your cabin and/or in places like the Sports Bar. Heck, you can even watch it in the Gym while doing laps on a treadmill;)

Though it's international CNN on the ships, I'm sure there will be coverage as the others have said.

I agree. I can't imagine there won't be a way to watch something so historic as this presidential ignaugeration (sp?) while onboard ship. HAL will find a way to make it available, one way or the other. I am so glad it's taking place on a Tuesday when I don't have to go to work that night, and thus don't need to get sleep during the day. I know where I will be ... esconsed in front of that TV watching all of the goings on. I only wish I could be doing it on a HAL ship, though. :)

By the way, we got Fox News during part of our sailing this past month. Maybe that will be available as well, in addition to the CNN International station.

Blue skies ...

You got FOX on Statendam?
That sounds like a first.
I don't recall anyone here mentioning that before though many have expressed an interest in being able to see Fox on the ships.

Good to know and I think we'll stick with CNN over Fox ;) Thanks to all who replied!
