I was on the Z last summer in an aft balcony. I enjoyed the large balcony but it was essentially full sun all the time and my wife almost never used the balcony. Looking to book a side balcony which will afford some shade. Are there side balcony cabins which are better than others. Larger cabin - larger balcony. The deck plans don't indicate anything but I know they are not always accurate. Thanks for any help!

Side balcony cabins.
All category "S" have the same size room and verandah.
All category "SS" have the same size room and verandah.
In other words all the "side" cabins in each category are identical - not counting handicapped cabins.

The only difference would be the four cabins on each deck that are located where the ship pinches in. These would be a little larger, both in cabin size and balcony.
However, since the balcony is on an angle, it would be visible to everyone with cabins in the mid-ship area.

Try not to book cabin next to glass elevators... those have no privacy what-so-ever...

The balconies on deck 4 are a few inches longer than the ones above.

Sorry KK you are wrong on the S suites, aft S suites vary in size and decks vary in size. Almost all aft s suites have HUGE decks. MY APOLOGIES KK I now see that you said side.

We stayed in a deck 4 verandah cabin (catagory B or BB) the first week and the second week in a deck 5 verandah cabin (catagory B or BB). The verandah on deck 4 was bigger than the one on deck 5, we didnt measure how much but it was very noticable!
