We've got more dough to spend on the trip. Hooray!
Thanks Azamara. I guess I should also thank the economy for going into the tank and dragging gas prices down with it! ;)
First we lucked into a huge CO resident discount, and NOW you're gonna be nice and refund our $480 bucks in fuel surcharges!? ($240 times 2)
Doing the happy refund/OBC dance. :)
Now, if they'd just upgrade us to a balcony we'd feel like we'd won the Lotto!! (stop it, now. Don't be greedy!!!)
Jan 3 can't get here quickly enough. Gotta cruise...and soon!!!

Does the "on of after Jan 1, 2009" include the Dec 16 to Jan 3 Quest Singapore to Hong Kong 18 nighter? Does it only suspend the fuel surcharge for the last 3 days or the entire cruise? Any ideas?

It goes into effect on January 1st and applies to cruises that depart as of that date or after:
Guests already booked on sailings that depart on or after January 1, 2009, will receive a refund of any fuel supplement paid, as follows:

Does anyone know if cruise agents in the UK will pass on the entire fuel supplement reduction to us? I've contacted our agent but have not heard back. We were given a discount on the entire cruise fare previously. The invoice does have a section before the discount was given which indicates the fuel supplement.

Hi JoKnecht !
Sorry to say, but from the way the press release reads, you probably will not be getting any credit or refund.
However, I would surely call your TA or Azamara, and double check. As I always say, it never hurts to ask. Enjoy your Cruise !

The surcharge for our May cruise has been removed. $420 that we won't have to shell out unless oil prices spike but we won't talk about that - hurray!:D

We are travelling in February on the Journey and have today received confirmation from our TA that the Fuel Charge will be deducted from the total cost. As we haven't paid the balance (which is due in 8 days time) as yet, we will get it in cash, so to speak, but if we had already paid in full, it would be given as OBC.
