Hey Gang, now that the Zaandam has cleared the locks, don't give up!!!!!
The OOSTERDAM, is going through the locks as she heads to Ft. Lauderdale to do some Caribbean cruises. It is 2:14 PM Central Daylight time.

I know!!! I am GLUED! That's my ship!! Going to be on her on 11/7 and she's looking good to me:D So so exciting.

I just went over to Kroooz-cams.com and looked on the bridge cam of the X-ship the SUMMIT. You can see the OOSTERDAM off in the distance waiting for the next lock to fill up so she can go into it. The Summit will be next and then maybe the VEENDAM if she hasn't gone through yet. FYI The VOLENDAM will go through on Tuesday.

Between watching the Zaandam and now the Oosterdam going through the locks AND writing e-mails, it has been a busy afternoon up here in the cool climate. Too bad HAL doesn't have web cams from their ships like the other cruise lines. Maybe then we could have seen revneal.

HEATHER -- Many thanks for the heads up. We'll be on the Rotterdam's holiday cruise for our first P.C. experience and can't wait! But really am enjoying watching the webcam in the meantime. :) :)

The OOSTERDAM is now down at The Atlantic level of the Canal and is now to finish up the canal and go into the Caribbean. Her next trip into the Canal will be after the first of the year when she relocates to San Diego and starts doing Mexican Riviera Cruises until next spring when she heads back to Seattle to begin her 2005 Alaskan Season.
I am glad there are as many of you "into" this as much as I am.

We have done serveral complete canal transits and one partial.

On Oct 25 we will go to through the Miraflores Locks only before we anchor the night at Gatun Lake - that will be a new experience for us. Then on the 26th we you go through the Miraflores Locks again as we exit back to the Pacific.

ozarkn, the Oosterdam already went thru!!! So sorry. Wasn't that long ago either. We tried to post as soon as they started. What a shame you missed it.

But I can tell you she's safely into the Caribbean so she'll be there for us for my cruise (11/7) and for yours:)

That is the live webcam from the Celebrity Summit. Earlier we were able to see the Oosterdam from the Summit. It was great!

The Celebrity web-cam site has archives as well as live pictures. If you click on Summit and then on bridgecam under archives you can choose the date and the time or just view all pictures for that day. So you still haven't missed the views of the Oosterdam and Zaandam which were seen from the Summit.
