I just came off the Nordam cruise that left on Thanksgiving day 2008 and was wondering if anyone has any information on the person airlifted off the ship. Are they okay? I hope so.

To my knowledge, this is the first mention of this on the HAL board.
How sad, for whomever. I, too, hope that all is well. Most likely, we shall never know.

She was waving from the basket as she was leaving. According to a staffer, she had a serious eye injury. I've got a few pictures of the air lift to post later this week.............

A friend of mine was on that cruise. Here's what she said:
The boat had to airlift a woman off by helicopter. She walked into the music stand at the pool watching someone who had fallen with a tray of food.

Now maybe that person would not have fallen if they did not have a tray... :D
What an unhappy (early) ending to her cruise though. Yikes.
