We are sailing on the Zuiderdam in November...It appears our stateroom is next to the outside elevators...when taking those elevators can you see onto the private balconies?:confused:

Yes - all of the balcony cabins right next to the elevators have no privacy.

When we were on the Oosterdam, we rarely saw anyone sitting out on those verandahs.

We noticed it while we were on the Zui... especially if the elevator was slowing to stop. The people on the verandahs seemed to be able to ignore everyone gawking at them... maybe they couldn't see into the elevator, so never knew.

Maybe you can ask for a different cabin assignment. I don't know how it works, but if there are other veranda cabins still available, maybe they'd swap you.

We were in the cabin second from the elevators and we tried to see in our Balcony and we couldnt. Also we rode them many times and we werent looking in balconies, we were looking out to the water, I dont think you will have a problem with lookie loo's :) Unless you are planning on sunning in the bare :)

We were in 5101 about the 3rd balcony away from the outside elevators. If you hung out way over the balcony you might get a peek at someone in the elevator and vice versa...it wasn't a problem at all.
