I have a timeshare in Grand Cayman and have been to the Butterfly farm. It is interesting but nothing special. It is $15 US admission ($12 CI Dollars). There is a small gift shop attached to the farm.
It is a short taxi ride from town where you are tendered in. I have never taken a taxi in GC and have no idea of the cost. We usually rent a car when we're there. It should take about 10 minutes (15 at most) to get there from the port.

We went through a ship excursion. We enjoyed it, but I agree with the previous poster. We were in town on a day when there were lots of ships and it was very crowded. This excursion did give us the chance to get out of the crowds downtown.
