In my opinion after using taking both these tours I would not recommend them. Granted they were relatively cheap at 36 and 39 per person but snorkel equipment should include fins especially if people are being dropped into the open ocean with no one from the boat in the water to assist or guide, getting on and off boat into water taxis or climbing off a pier should not endanger older individuals safety over and over again, arguments should not be necessary to get included particular watered down drinks, and the food should atleast be edible. I wrote the company and they poo pooed my comments. We did did the Stone Island tour in Mazatlan and the YelapaMa... tour. We were at Yelapa a very limited time. Spent most of the time on their boat.

What was the name of your boat for the Yelapa tour? Did you also go to a place called Las Animas on that tour?

I've done the Stone Island tour with them and I thought they were great and took very good care of us, so I disagree.

Have you posted this on the Mexican board to warn others?

Sorry for your disappointment. That happens sometimes when booking these tours on your own. Not to say you can't sometimes be disappointed with a ship's offered tour.

I hate to say it, but you get what you pay for. $36 and $39 does not sound like an awful lot of money to pay for a snorkeling tour. True, safety issues should never exist, no matter how little you pay. But stuff like drinks and food will often be of very low quality, or even non-existant, when a tour is cheap. For that price, I wouldn't have expected food and the only beverage I would have expected would perhaps be a small bottle of water.
As for the fins for snorkeling, most of the snorkeling tours I've taken haven't provided fins ... just snorkels and masks. The people using fins had brought them on their own.

We took a mountain bike tour in Ensenada that we booked through Carnival. The bikes were in various states of disrepair or misadjustment. A few bikes even had safety issues that I pointed out to the guide before we started out. They shrugged it off but at least the riders thanked me and grabbed another bike on their own. Also the tour catered to the least-capable participant even though there were more than enough guides to split into groups according to ability and experience.
That was my first (and probably last) shorex I booked through a cruiseline.

We booked two tours on our last Mexico cruise from this company. The first was in Cabo and was great. We also booked a tour in PV, but had to cancel while on the cruise. They refunded all of our money to our credit card before we returned home. They are a discount broker for many different tours and offer cheap as well as more expensive tours. While the cheaper tours may not be a good as more expensive ones, the customer service is great.
