I am interested in booking this 12-night Caribbean - Eastern (Miami roundtrip) leaving January 31, but I am wondering why there is still room left! Does anyone know about this particular suite? Is it obstructed or noisy or have something negative that I should know about? Thanks for sharing your wisdom here....this is only my 2nd cruise, I'm traveling solo and want maximum quiet and R&R......thanx!

heidik,
I haven't sailed Azamara yet but I stayed in the same suite on an Oceania cruise (it's numbered 8029 on Oceania). There's nothing wrong with the suite. My guess is that someone just canceled. Every once in a while, I heard a little noise from the pool deck but I'm extremely sensitive to noise and it didn't bother me. 8039 is midship. On the plus side, 8039 is on the boundary of a watertight compartment so there is a solid wall between it and the adjacent cabin forward of it. The solid was extends through the balcony on Oceania and gives you more privacy on one side of your balcony. I assume Journey is similar.
I think you'll be happy in 8039. In fact, I'm booked on the Quest in Feb. 2010 in cabin 8036 which is in the same location as 8039 but on the port side of the ship.

I just finished a Trans Atlantic on the Journey and I was in 8039. It is a very good cabin. No issues. I noticed a lot of wind wistling noise - very obvious at night. Easy solution was to pick up a towel at the pool and use it everynight -- place it accross the crack at bottom of window and the whistling stops immediately. The whistling sound was not just pertinent to this cabin, other mentioned it. But the solution was easy:D

HI Dave,
I know that this was an old post but hopefully you get this anyway. I am cruising on Azamara's Quest and I am booked in 8036. We you happy with this stateroom? I moved from 8061 because I was afraid of the noise from the cafe. What are your thoughts?
Thanks,Nicole

Hi Nicole...I was just nosing around but I thought I could give you some input. We sailed 14 nights on the Quest in 2008 and I don't imagine much has changed. We were in 8039 and I can assure noise was not a problem.
I can remember only one early morning when I heard what sounded like distant thunder but I guess was pool furniture being moved. I rolled over and went back to sleep. The location of the suite was great but given the size of the ship,I don't think there are any bad locations.
You will enjoy you cruise and I wish I was going with you!!!
Cheers....RANTHEMAN
