Going on 4-day Bahamas cruise aboard RCCL Majesty of Seas on Jan 16 with group of people but I am the only single person in the group. I have been on one of other cruise and found it to be most filled with couples and family. Has anybody been on this cruise before, and if so, can you fill me in on the mix between singles, couples and families? I am a 35 year old male who is very good at making fun out of any experience; so not really concerned ... just want to know what to expect.
Secondly, what kind of shoes do most people wear at night time? I was planning to bring slacks and button down linen shirts/polo shirts for dress but was not sure what type of shoes to bring along ... of course I will also bring a suit for the formal night and wear lace up dress shoes. Was thinking of sandals or maybe loafers of some sort for other nights.
Finally, any advice on what excursions to hit up on each port? We hit Nassau, Coco Cay and Key West. Been to all but Coco Cay and have seen Atlantis a few times.
Thanks a lot and looking forward to this for sure ...
Rick

Howdy Rick! http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/50.gif
Welcome to Cruise Critic and thank you for your first post! http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/05.gif
Read the Sticky thread titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773). The thread will tell you about the Cruise Critic Roll Call Forums and how they are the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise.
For information from your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83) for the Royal Caribbean International Forum.
For information about your ports of call click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=5 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=5) for our list of the Ports of Call Forums. That's where you can research for tours, excursions, transportation etc. Your fellow Cruise Critic members post their reviews/recommendations there. Also, your fellow Roll Call members may have information posted in your Roll Call thread. In fact, your Roll Call thread is the only place on Cruise Critic where members can post about sharing tours, excursions, transportation etc.
For information concerning your shoes, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=182 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=182) for our Cruise Fashions & Beauty Forum. Also, you might want to click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114) for our Ask a Cruise Question Forum.
Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/05.gif Click the feature to open the drop down. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometime overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day.
The following information may be helpful too:
Be sure to read our FAQ (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php), especially the Getting Started (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_getting_started) section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php) sections are What is email notification? (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_email_notifica tion) and User Maintenance (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php?faq=vb_board_search#faq_vb_user_maintain).
Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php) for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky threads at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions.
In our Guidelines (http://www.cruisecritic.com/community/guide.cfm), please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post (http://www.cruisecritic.com/community/guide.cfm#11) section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.
Be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new inquiry title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship & sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you.
If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to slowly hover your cursor over the item and most often there will be a tool tip appear with the name or action.
I sincerely hope this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!
