We have made this trip before (without Antartica) and plan to book some small tours privately. Any interest?

Hi
We have not been on the Amsterdam before but we did almost the same trip 2 years ago on a Celebrity trip. We are arriving on Dec 30th and will spend several days, again, in Santiago which we love. From there and before we arrive in Valpariso, we are visiting LaSerena in the north which is being arranged for us by the conceirge at the Sheraton 4 points (3rd time there).
I am planning to do another Estancia (ranch) visit in Montevideo. I have been looking at the web and found something interesting there instead of the ships tour.
My wife Fern and I will be celebrating our 35th anniversary.
Happy sailing,
Marty

Hi
Are you booking through the cruise line or independantly. we do the latter. If you are an independant, what tours are you doing?
See you on board.

Hi!
Bob and I have just joined this cruise, after giving up our booking on the Amsterdam 1/25/05, SA cruise, by HAL's offer of a fantastic deal. We hadn't booked any shore excursions, fortunately, and as this is our first time in this part of the world, we're more likely to book them through HAL. I am thinking about doing our own in the Falklands, though. Friends hired a driver there for much less $$$ and saw penguins and had a good tour through town. Have you visited the CC South America board? There is lots of good information there and some wonderful pictures that two people have posted. We're very excited about our change of plans and the opportunity to cruise Antarctica. Our visas arrived today. We plan to spend one night in Santiago, pre cruise.

Hi
We have done most of this before and will not even get off in the Falklands again. We found it quite boring but worth seeing just once. I have booked an "estancia" in Mondevideo on my own which is a ranch and BBQ lunch. Last time we did it is was a great trip into the countryside while visiting a working ranch with a great meal. I will forward the tour info that this operator offers if you are comfortable going on your own or maybe joining us. Let me know at martys1@marathoninc.com.
Regards,
Marty
