And on this day the Truman carrier group sailed out of Norfolk, taking about 8000 (my guess) sailers away from home, through the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The navy life is not an easy one.
Now, cake and ice cream will be served on the Lido poolside.Would that be chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream by any chance?

Happy Birthday to the US Navy!
I have decendants from the same town in Ireland as Commadore John Barry. Athough my Grandmother's family thought they were related since they share the same surname, it was not able to be validated. However, we let Grandma think she was a cousin ;)
