Although this isn't a cruise question I wonder if some of you might be able to give their opinions on US Airways. We are looking at flying with them from DC to London and return in May. They are by far the cheapest fare available.
Experiences flying internationally with this airline would be so welcome.

Suggest you go to the Cruise Air boards for an answer to this question.

I agree.

You should get a bunch of replies on that board. Here's a link. Cruise Air (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=128)

BTW, my experience with USAir international is limited to flights from CLT to the Caribbean and those flights (in business class) were not much different than they were in the USA.

You get what you pay for.:D I am actually surprised they are still operating, I know their financial situation is one of the worst in the industry

They are constantly cancelling flights and rerouting them with little concern about the time constraints of their passengers.

Just make sure to fly a few days ahead of time, especially when flying international, and keep checking your flight status right up until you leave for the airport. Have a plan B at all times.

That's the only advice I can give.

Paying more is not going to get you more. (The exception is going to business or first class.) I would go for the savings, Val, and try to schedule your flights with some leeway so far as time is concerned.

We've flown US Airways several times internationally (US to Europe) since they're the only game in town for our area. We've flown both coach and upgraded to Envoy class (their version of business class). Coach on their Airbus planes was not as bad as one would think and their Envoy class IMO is quite nice. I hate to fly, and I found the US Airways service just fine. Our most recent trip was May '08 in Envoy. I know there have been changes to their coach service, but we haven't done coach since they changes were implemented.

I could see from many sources that they have improved their ontime out of the last 9 months they have a great on time record. They are focusing on cabin appearance and I have noticed an improvement in their cabins. For the money if you have an extra day go with the least expensive. We flew them to london last year and they where on time and got us there cheaper then united delta or any of the other major carriers. They are trying and it shows.

We have absolutly no direct air flights from Pittsburgh to Ft Lauderdale.

And Every Month we have major battle with US Aiways and Delta with all of our future flights to Ft Lauderdale -- Seattle -- San Diego.

Both airlines keep changing their flights about every 6 weeks.

You have to stay on top of them!!

US Airways has been dropping flights nearly every other month.
