Hello, we have never sailed on HAL before and can't wait to go Jan 13! We have a guaranteed cabin and still do not have a cabin assignment. How will we be able to leave our suitcases at curbside if we don't have an assignment until we actually go in to check in. Will the porters have our assignment. Any one else experience this? Thanks

Keep checking your online registration form until you leave but, yes, the porters have a list of room numbers and will write them on your luggage tags. Have a great time! We're on the Noordam beginning the 23rd :D

On Princess we can go straight to our cabin after checking in....on other ships you have to wait until 1pm. What is the general rule for HAL ships. This will be our first one.

HAL used to not start the boarding process until 2pm or after, and you could go straight to your room. Now, with early boarding, you can be on the ship usually by 11:30am and have lunch. An announcement is made around 1:30 or so when the cabins are ready

The porters will have a list of all the cabin assignments. They even have markers to write your cabin number on the luggage tag -- so if you haven't gotten your cabin assignment by the time you get to the ship -- just put the tags on your suitcases with your name on them.

You can arrive at the pier around 11 AM and you will be given a number. Boarding usually begins at 11:15 - 11:30. When your number is called, you can board.

You will then be directed to the Lido where you can have lunch. OR -- the dining room is open for lunch from Noon until 1 PM.

Usually an announcement is made anywhere from 1 PM to 1:30 that the cabins are ready and then you can go and checkout your cabin.

While you are waiting for your cabin to be ready you can roam the ship -- maybe make Pinnacle reservations -- or just get acquainted with the ship.
