Apaarently travel agents are being informed that GC is not accepting cruise ships and tourist trade through the first of the year. My TA said the memo said through January.
It seems that HAL, instead of holding out hope, should reflect the changes in all itineraries through those dates.
I realize that port substitutions are complicated, so I expect that many of us will see added sea days instead of another port. FYI

The recovery on Grand Cayman is coming along. Power poles are getting replaced, there is water available certain hours in the morning and evening.
I've read a report that starting early Nov a couple of cruise ships may be allowed in weekly. The island was devastated. We'll just have to give them time. With all the folliage damage, it will be 2 or 3 months before it's pretty again and even then many of the mature trees and flowering shrubs will not be there. I just returned from Zuiderdam western last week and we went to Costa Maya as a substitute.

Thanks for the website Stevesan.

OMG - I have never seen such devastation. :( Those poor people.

50 years ago today Hurrican Hazel hit Toronto, Ontario, Canada and nearby towns. I thought that was devastating as we had quite a few people die, but it was nothing like this.

I guess Grand Caymen sustained a lot of damage, during the hurricane. Hopefully this wonderful Island will be up and running shortly. It is my favorite stop in the Western Caribbean.
