Hi folks, just booked my first cruise 2 days ago on the destiny for the Caribbean gems and coral island trips on Feb 8th. Ive been reading the boards avidly and just getting more and more excited. Two things that i haven't found out so far though: can you actually borrow books from the library? Do they have much choice? And do I have to bring a beach towel. Thanks in advance, Tracy.:)

Destiny has a small library, which hopefully should grow with each cruise, as nice people leave books they have brought with them and read. My advice to you would be to go and get your books out quite soon on your first day, as people seem to nab the best ones quickly! The library is near the reception desk on Deck 4.

You are given 2 yellow beach towels per cabin, which will be replaced by your cabin steward as needed. Have a quick look at the reviews I wrote on Destiny for the Tropical Transatlantic cruise, (there are 3 different parts - but don't plough through them all - you will be bored to death!):D

If Destiny is your first cruise, you will have a wonderful time.

There was a reasonable selection in the library, but if you are relying on it then best to go early on in your cruise as my dad said later on the better titles were all out.

Beach towels (orange) are supplied in your cabin and replaced as required. If you don't get any, ask your cabin steward(ess).

there is a library and you can borrow books but they didn't look too interesting to me - I suppose it all depends on what type you look. I am an "easy chick read" reader and there didn't appear to be any of those.

You don't need beach towels - they are supplied. they are left in your cabin and are replaced every day. in fact by the pool on deck 9 there is a huge bin full of new ones and you can help yourself!!
