Question for those who have recently traveled Maasdam out of Norfolk - where does the ship dock in San Juan? At the Pan American pier, or one of the piers near old town so you can walk into town rather than getting a cab? Thanks.

We docked at "Old Town", but at a far end dock so it would have been a long hike to get to the main part of town. Didn't see any shuttles so hired a cab and went directly to El Morro. After touring the castle, we walked back (it's downhill) to the docks visiting shops and stopping for coffee in one of the plazas. Please don't stop at a Macdonald's or Burger King. You'll find marvelous coffee and snacks in the plaza kiosks. Along the way, be sure to stop at The Butterfly People. Fantastic butterfly displays for sale. It's an excellent visit even if you don't buy.
