HI, I will also be on from the 8th of feb for two weeks. This will be my first cruise, but the boards here are brilliant and seem to cover everything so well. Hope we all have a great time on the destiny!!:)

There are 6 of us (3 couples) flying out from Manchester on 8th Feb. 4 of us are on the ship for one week, then staying in a RIU hotel for the 2nd week. The other couple are on the ship for 2 weeks.

In relation to my earlier post above, wondering if anyone can offer advice on seating arrangements for dinner.
The four of us who are doing the cruise & stay are on the same holiday booking so I assume we will, by default, be seated together on the late sitting. The couple who are cruising for 2 weeks would like to sit with us for dinner (already booked on late sitting).
I was on the Destiny 12 months ago, but cannot remember if we were already allocated a table when we arrived, or if it was done the 1st time we went for dinner. When would be the best time to try and get the 6 of us together? At the port maybe, when we have our pictures taken etc?!?
Thanks in advance.:)

You need to speak to the Maitre d', he had a table outside the restaurant from 5p.m. on the first afternoon and you could go and check/change table arrangements. You need to know everyone's names and cabin numbers.
We had a group of 7 in 3 cabins and there was no problem arranging this, but I would go as early as possible.

just getting things together to pack, do the men need to wear tie's in the dining room?

No ties required on smart casual nights, unless you wish. On formal nights most men wore DJ with bow tie, or a lounge suit with a tie. Most people were more "smart" than "casual" in the evenings and certainly not "scruffy", I would say, and very nice they looked too!
