I'm on the Dec. 11 sailing of the Zaandam to the Eastern Caribbean. Wanted to book my shore excursions online this weekend.

The receipts I got from my TA show a 5-digit booking number. When I tried to enter it on the HAL website, I got an error message saying it had to be at least 7-characters. So I tried adding 2 zeros to the beginning of the number and got the same message. Added 2 zeros to the end of the number and you guessed it, ditto. What am I doing wrong?

My TA's agency is closed until Monday. Anyone out there who can help me? TIA.

Try adding "01" as the number, Roz. IIRC you are passenger one in your party.

Hope this works. Will you come back to the thread and let me know, please?

Roz - I just looked at our booking #'s and they are 7 digits. Adding the zeros won't help.

The December one starts with 57 and the January one with 58, if this helps you any. Check and see if your booking # starts with either 56 or 57. Now, I may be wrong about this, but unless you have the correct #, you won't be able to book. Maybe it's best to wait until tomorrow when you can speak to your TA.

Ruth - it's the booking number that seems to be missing some numbers, not the passenger #. Maybe Roz was given the wrong number.

Possibly the number is an internal TA number used by the Travel Agency. One of the TA's we use always use a different number on the receipt. The real booking number shows up on the documents. If we need it ahead of time, we call this TA and she provides it.

Ruth and Esme,

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm heading back to the HAL website to try again. I'll let you know what happens.

Ruth, I tried your suggestion using the 57 and it said my booking is cancelled and there's no more space - LOL! That can't be true because I'm paid in full. I think Roadwork's observation is correct...the booking # on the receipt isn't my HAL #. I'll just have to wait until Monday morning and check in with my TA.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Roz,

If you need it today, give Hal a call. We had to do this once, since the TA was closed on Sunday. The rep will probably ask you some questions to verify who you are but they should be able to give you the booking number.

We booked 3 cabins, the first 2 start with 57. We later added another cabin and that number is 58 so I think is has to do with when you book, in other words the next series will be 59.
