We were in a horrible car accident last week-end and need your prayers. My husband, my mother-in-law and I were in the car which was hit when another ran a stop sign. Thankfully, my DH was not hurt, I have 3 broken vertabrae and 1 broken rib, but my dear MIL is is critical condition with multiple injuries. You have all been so kind to me over the past couple of years and I consider so many of you amoung my friends. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Kim,
The power of prayer is amazing! It has been two and a half years since I was hit by a car and I still need therapy. There are good days and bad days and progress is sometimes painfully slow, but progress is made, even if only in baby steps. Try and keep your spiritis up and your faith intact. I will be sure to include you and your family in my prayers.

Hi Kim,
We don't know each other, but I too was in a car accident this past May 9, 2008. It was a roll over accident. I had 2 cervical and 2 thoracic vertabrae broken. Numerous broken ribs, sternum, leg hand, wrist, and ankle. I was in rehab for about a month. Point is, the power of prayer is anawesome thing and I think I got better everyday just by the confidence and will of those around me who believed in my recovery.
You just listen to your doc and do the physical therapy he or she prescribes and the rest of us will send up the prayers.
I'll check back to this board to see how you are doing.
With all best wishes for a speedy recovery,

I am so sorry to hear this. Losing a parent, or parent in law, is such a difficult thing and your situation must make it so much harder for you. You sound like a strong person and, even though I'm sure it all seems beyond enduring sometimes, you will get through this. If you are religous I hope you can take strength from the Lord, he will always give us the strength to get through. As we try to bear one anothers burdens, I hope your is lightened a small degree by knowing so many people are thinking of and praying for you.

Kim - so sorry to hear of your accident. I pray and wish you and your mother-in-law a speedy recovery. It gave me chills to read your post. I too was T-boned in an intersection by someone running a red light. Fortunately I was OK but my new car suffered $8000 damage. Noticed your home State. My father was in a horrible accident in Raleigh in 1966 on his way back to Toronto, Ontario. Was in Raleigh hospital 4 months.
