Looking to book a future cruise on Holland. I have always sailed the Zuiderdam and enjoy it greatly. We like to relax and are not that concerned with the destinations. Rates on the smaller ships are considerably higher than the Zuiderdam for a 7 day cruise. Is your experience all that different on a smaller ship? Would love some comparisons from those of you that have traveled both. Remember, we love relaxation, table for 2, balcony and S Suite if affordable. Great service is mandatory and great food would be a definite plus.

I haven't sailed the Zuiderdam as of yet, but will in March. I have, however, sailed the Volendam, sister ship to the Zaandam and would highly recommend the Zaandam. If you enjoyed the Zuiderdam, you will also enjoy the Zaandam, even though, from what I read, different experiences. I have sailed the Veendam and that's a bit smaller than the Zaandam, but had a great cruise on that as well. Hey, your on a cruise, how bad can it be. Try something different and see what you think of the two different ships.

We have been on the Zuiderdam and also the Zaandam, Statendam, Ryndam etc. We loved them all. The smaller ships are just that, smaller. No difference in the great service you receive or the quality of food. The only difference we noticed was that the entertainment seemed to be a bit better quality on the Zuiderdam. Enough difference to not sail the smaller ships? nope. The shows are good on the smaller ships and we have seen some great shows there. We are now booked for the Westerdam in Feb, Zuiderdam in July and the Veendam in Nov. so we still book all the ships, depends on which one is where at the time.
