Our itinerary has also been changed. Grand Cayman removed, St Maartin removed, Costa Maya substituted, and a sea day added. Boy they must be in sensory overload with having to make all these changes. What a mess! I know this was probably one of their few options, but I do like ST. Maartin better than Tortola. Gotta go, Lemons to squeeze!

We will be sailing on the Zaandam on Nov. 20th and received an email from our TA last week telling us that we won't be going to Grand Cayman, but will be at sea that day. I had read where Costa Maya was being substituted for GC lately, but we won't be going there. I sent the TA an email about a refund, or credit, for port charges after reading some other threads on this message board and other sites. Looks like onboard credits are being given on other HAL ships.

In our experience port charges have been refunded though credits to shipboard accounts, but we've never experienced a pre-cruise change of itinerary before. Our other events were due to weather while on the cruise.
I expect HAL to come through for us, unless Costa Maya's charges are that much higher than GC. However, I wouldn't expect that to be true.

I wonder if the removal of St Maarten is because of weather damage. As of yesterday, it was still showing as a port of call on our Xmas sailing. Haven`t heard anything from my TA or HAL yet......jean

grannynurse,
I posted our new itinerary in the roll call forum. Another sea day is fine with us. We are a little disappointed with missing St. Martin as we will be shopping for two of our Grand Daughters for their birthdays. We prefer St. Martin over St. Thomas for shopping, but it is really no big deal. HAL has also changed our D.R. port.
