Heather,

We're getting real excited about our cruise (only 12 days to go).:) We're planning out shore excursions and was wondering about Antigua. We were going to go with Eli's Eco tour in Antigua, which is a boat tour. However, in a previous thread (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=50005) you suggested seeing Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard and English Harbour. I've never been to Antigua and was wondering if you would suggest that I switch to a land tour to see these locations.

Thanks,
Marc

Just watch out for the hair braiders... they are everywhere. :D

Unless of course, you want to surprise DW at dinner with a new look...

Hi Marc! Not long now:D ! Yes, we stayed on the island for a week so toured around quite a lot. I wouldn't want to discourage you from your Eco Tour because it may be fabulous. But in my personal view, Antigua is a really great island for a land tour. When we stayed there we rented a car and went to see those sites on our own. In my Shore Excursions brochure there's a tour "Historical Antigua" that includes all 3. There is one side of the island that has nothing to offer and the other is magnificent. Sadly I don't remember which is which.

I will tell you that Shirley Heights is so magnificent. Have you gone to an Antigua website and browsed around? Take a look at this site if you haven't seen it: Antigua & Barbuda - Points of Interest (http://www.antigua-barbuda.org/agpnt01.htm) and be sure to let me know what you end up doing!

Thanks for your reply Heather. I'll show the website to DW. She's at the point where she's telling me to book whatever tour I want and stop bugging her.

Being the loving DH I am, I of course tell her that I want her to be happy, so she should be involved. (Translation: Don't want to take the blame if I pick wrong).:D

OK, how about the guy that got his chest hair beaded in Nassau while we were there.

OK, how about the guy that got his chest hair beaded in Nassau while we were there.Definitely was not me. Don't think I've ever drank so much that I would let someone do that.

Well, Brian, you're not "off topic" because the thread is called "Question for Heather" so basically any question would go, right???:D

I have to tell you it is working great!! I love it. I have on my "toolbar" 2 icons... "My Subscriptions" and "HAL CC". Several times a day I click on "my subs" to see any new posts to the threads I've already visited. Then a couple of times I go to the main forum to see if there's anything new.

It has cut back considerably on my time spent here but I'm still reading everything. I'm posting just a bit less:rolleyes: , but not too much less.

Bet that was much more than you really want to know, right???;)
