We just returned a couple of days ago from a 10 day Med' cruise on Noordam and to all those about to travel on her you are in for a treat. We had a fantastic time. The ship is in very good shape, spotlessly clean, very well maintained and a pleasure to be on board. The crewmembers are amazing, so polite and helpful and forever with a big smile and a cheery hello. They look after the ship like a baby, painting, polishing, cleaning continuously. It was quite remarkable to see. The shows are excellent and are worthy of a standing ovation every time.

We had a nice cabin on the boat deck with a forward facing window which was great especially when sailing into port. The weather was 1st class, sunny and warm most of the time, calm seas throughout the journey.

Now keep in mind these comments are my opinion only but as a somewhat new cruiser I was VERY impressed, considering that this ship is 20 years old she truly is a "grand old dame of the sea" So, all you Noordam passengers out there, you are in for a wonderful time on a very special ship, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Happy cruising.

Bert.

PS -- I did not mention the food, all I can say is WOW !

I have to agree with Travelbug (who i had the pleasure of meeting during an afternoon tea and again in rome). This cruise was absolutely wonderful! i was touched by how hard-working and friendly all of the crew were. they truly made the cruise a very special experience! the ship is beautiful, the shows were great, and the food was the best! we really couldn't have asked for anything more!

Hope you got home safe and sound, what a hoot meeting in Rome, did you see all you hoped to? I was just looking at the photograph today of "the girls" if you give me your e mail address I will send a copy. It was great meeting up with you, maybe we will meet again in the future, say hi to your friend. Glad you also liked the Noordam experience, so sad it had to end!! I can't stop thinking about all those goodies. Ah well back to normal now, until the next time.

So glad we were able to meet after the brief CC posting.

Happy cruising. Mary say's Hi.

I am terribly disappointed I never got to cruise on the Noordam, I had her booked last summer and it was canceled due to the fire. My TA told me I was crazy when I suggested booking it, but I really wanted to experience that classical style.

This has probably been discussed endlessly, but is it true that there is a hidden room on the Noordam, an old dinning room or ballroom, below a staircase?

Aloha, Bert & Mary!

Yep, we're home: safe, sound, and a bit weary. We absolutely loved Rome! Spent about 7 hours that first day just walking around and exploring. It was so nice to run into you again, you're such a sweet couple. Rome was so much fun! We only saw two cats in the Colloseum, but they were really friendly. Spent the whole second day at the Vatican, which was absolutely amazing! So glad we all gave the Noordam a chance, I couldn't have asked for anything more on this vacation. Thanks for offering to send the pic, I'd love that! My e-mail address is missy1448@hotmail.com.

Mahalo,
