We are scheduled to sail on the Veendam from Ft. Lauderdale to San Diego on April 27. In checking to see if prices have changed before final payment next week, The Hal site says "The sailing you have requested is no longer available. (Advisory 5129)."

In checking Travelocity and Expedia, both sites say they are unable to find a cruise to meet the dates, ship, etc. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Is this a temporary computer glitch which happens when it comes close to final payment time? I will definitely be checking the web site tomorrow morning, and if I get the same message will be on the phone to my TA.

From past experience, what you are seeing is usually either
(1) The HAL reservation server being shut down for the evening (usually by midnight eastern time each night the HAL reservations site quits working). The web site booking engine usually is working again by morning.
(2) The cruise has sold out and no more reservations are being taken.

There is also a chance that the cruise is being changed or canceled.

Most of the time, however, it is option (1) above.

So, I would relax tonight and try again some other time between 9 am and 11pm Eastern time to see what happens. If you still have the problem, call your travel agent or HAL and try to find out what is going on. (In case it is a change in the cruise schedule.)

The Veendam is doing NYC to Bermuda on April 22 and April 29 of this year. You had better call your Ta to see what you are booked on.

That post was in January 2009 so it would be about the April 2009 sailing. It was the poster at #4 that picked up an old thread and is talking about the Statendam in 2012..

Thanks. One would think that a poster who has been around as long as I have been would think to check dates. Oops!!

I have done that so often - read a thread and either replied or gone to reply and then realise it is years old. I just happened to notice on this one.
