View Full Version : Paul Gauguin - photos of cabin 767?

We just had to cancel our PG cruise for this summer (cabin 731 now available on the June 13th sailing) and are rescheduling it for next summer. I know the ship will be operated by Paul Gauguin Cruises instead of Regent, but I think we will probably take a gamble and book with them anyway. Does anyone have photos of cabin 767? If we have to reschedule, at least we might get a fabulous cabin out of it!

Oops - just noticed on my old invoice that we were in 733, not 731. In any event, a balcony cabin just opened up.

I think you should take a look at the deck plan and the photos on the website since all there are no differences in the suites within a category. When you look at the deck plan -- notice if you would be under a restaurant (can be noisy) or above one. Ideally, there will be cabins above and below your cabin.

Since this cabin is slightly larger inside, and has a bathroom with shower only, I know it is a little different from the others. Also, the balcony is supposed to be larger. We went ahead and booked it, but still would love to see photos. I love aft views.

I misread your post. I was looking at 731 and 733. Best of luck finding someone with a photo. Unfortunately, only about 5% of Regent passengers are members of CC.

Aft views are lovely. . . . have you asked about noise or engine fumes?

Olive, I'm sorry you had to cancel your upcoming trip. I have pictures of cabin 767, because that was our cabin on our 2006 trip, shortly after those aft cabins were added. Here's the link to the thread on another web site, with the photos about halfway down:

Ah, but enough of us are to help each other out!

I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to include a link to another web site above. My apologies to "The Powers That Be." I figured out how I can post the photos here:

Gosh TC....I did not realize that only 5 % of Regent passengers are members of cruise critic. Where did you get that statistic? Very interesting information to know when reading the posts on the Regent board.

It was sad to cancel the cruise, but we ended up on an 11-night instead of the 7-night, and in the aft cabin 767 instead of our non-aft balcony. I know it won't be Regent anymore, but I still think it will be worth the wait! Thank you so much for the information and photos.

Thanks Eric for the link to the photos. We are in 765 in just 4 weeks on a private charter on the PG. I was wondering if 767 is wider (and by how much) than the ones right next to it. Having been in an aft balcony on the Tahitian Princess 3 years ago ....we are hooked. Never had an exhaust problem (from the ship at least!!). The bathrooms in your photo's are the bomb!! WOW! I had to chuckle as they are outfitted with the exact same glass tile we just put in our guest bath.

Also can you advise me how to include your photo link if I want to show my fellow cruisers the room? I'm not all that skilled with cruisecritic and don't want to post something and not have it show up. Thanks for you help-

I'm pretty sure the Paul Gauguin brochure lists the actual square footage of the aft cabins because of the variations within the category. That might be helpful if no one can respond to your specific question.

I don't know the precise dimensions of the various cabins; I know 767 looks just a little wider and deeper than the ones on either side, but I don't know by how much. My guess is it isn't an appreciable enough difference to be noticeable.

For the links, why not just give them the link to this thread...

Actually, 767 is considerably bigger than the other aft cabins. My husband and I spent 17 great nights in that cabin, and our two kids were next door. While the square footage may not be much different, it makes a big difference inside, because of the curve of the ship. We also spent two weeks in a regular class C cabin a few weeks before, and 767 is much larger. HOWEVER, if it seems warm in the cabin, call maintenance right away. THere are some AC issues in these newer cabins.

Can anyone comment on cabin 765? We just booked this for the 5/22/10 sailing (767 was already booked). According to the website, 767 is 229 inside with a 74 square foot balcony and cabin 765 is slightly smaller at 221 sqft inside and has the same sized balcony. Is there really that much difference between 767 and 765?
Thanks,
Jenny
