Slinkiecat, so sorry we overlooked your bon voyage! It's unforgiveable! So I want to at least welcome you home in a festive manner!:D Can you remind us which ship and what itinerary? Can you please tell us about it and write a review for us?
I sure would love to hear all about it. And, again, so sorry. You should have written a HUGE goodbye!!! And we should have paid more attention. Please forgive and tell all:)

Aawwwwwwwwwww!!! How sweet you are, Heather and Ziggy! We just returned Monday from a quickie to Nassau, out of Miami on Carnival Fascination.
Since neither DH nor I had cruised on any HAL ship before and had decided to book the world cruise, our TA said we would get a big break on the price if we would qualify as repeat customers, so we agreed to do the Nassau trip. We paid a few hundred dollars to save a few thousand, so it was almost like a freebie. We drove to the port (just over two hours from our home in Naples) and left our car in the parking deck there, boarded without fanfare and had a great time.
I guess if I were to review the cruise I should do so on the Carnival board. I do really appreciate your warm welcome home. Thank you so very much!
Now I have a long countdown in progress for my HAL cruise.

Slinkie, did I ever mention how much I love your little guy on the beach?
Since you mentioned the parking, could you give me an idea of about how long it took you to go thru the gate (to the pier), security and so forth? I mean with your car ... not at Carnival. What time did you get there? We're going to take our car and park on the pier but I'm trying to figure out how much time to allow.

I was so glad DH did the driving, as going through town in Miami is nerve-wracking. I'm a total wimp in traffic. We found the port okay with the directions provided and there was no waiting to go into the terminal. We took our luggage out of the car and crossed the street to the drop-off area where the porters showed us the log so we could put our cabin number on the tags (we weren't sure what cabin, since we had booked a guarantee, but it was the same as it appeared in our booking number, E242.
We arrived at the terminal at approximately 11:30, and progressed through security smoothly in 10 minutes. Then we went up the stairs where we waited on benches for a few more minutes and were on board by 12 noon. The buffet opened at 12:30, so we walked around the necks for a few minutes and had a very nice lunch. Our cabin was ready when we checked it out, and our luggage arrived within a few minutes also, probably at around 1:15. We unpacked and headed for the Lido deck where we watched the band and other passengers, had a foo-foo drink to celebrate the occasion, and then decided to book our excursions for our only port day before they sold out. They had a port review scheduled for 3 o'clock, which we attended, but we had already decided after reading the brochures that we would do the glass-bottom boat in the morning and the Pearl Island sting ray excursion in the afternoon as it would also allow us to try out the snorkeling at that site.

(glad you like the little beach smilie - I copied it off someone else's signature the day we flew down to Florida)

Welcome Back, SlinkieCat. I remember your commenting previously how becoming a repeater would entitle you to considerable savings. Sounds like good business to me.....save money and get a cruise in he meantime. Good for you!!
Now you sure have a very special cruise to look forward to.

Thank you, Sail7. It was truly a bargain to cruise for three days to such a fun place as Nassau in order to save a nice bundle on the long cruise. I would like to have been able to stay for another day or two in Nassau, but perhaps another cruise will take us there so we can see some of the things we missed this time. I think I've said that about nearly every port we've visited so far.
It was our good fortune that HAL allows credit for cruises on Carnival to qualify for the discount. I always appreciate it when a business recognizes that repeat customers are their bread and butter, and especially when that recognition extends to their related companies.
