Hey I have two questions. I'm going on the Westerdam on Sunday.

In the dining room during lunch, do they have a staple menu like they do during the dinner time (caesar salad, french onion soup, steak, chicken and salmon)??

Also, at the movie theatres, do they serve popcorn??

thanks for answering my questions! :)
Cheers!

Popcorn, yes. well, usually. There have been times when I get there too late and it is gone and once, they didn't make any. Lunch is usally different each day except for the salad bar area which is consistant. They will have a soup each day and probably sometype of chicken and pizza.. They also have a sandwich station which has the same chicken salad, tuna salad, ham, roast beef etc every day and they also have a couple of daily specials. Also there is always tacos or taco salad, hamburgers, hot dogs. You will find those near the pool on the Lido deck. Of course, there is always bread pudding for dessert whichis a tradition not to be missed.:)

The menu in the Dining Room for lunch changes daily. It is posted outside the dining room so you can check it out in advance and decide what sounds good to you. :)

The popcorn question was answered, but I can't address your lunch Dining Room question.

My 2 cents is this - Please DO try the Lido for lunch. There are several stations now that 'specialize' so check both sides of the ship. My favorite is the Asian noodle station!

Some people who sail on other lines say HAL's new Lido Buffets are hand's down winners.

(Don't know myself - only been on HAL so far.)

Echoing the Bread Pudding - given the same itinerary and price, people choose HAL for the bread pudding. LOL

Oh and I have to HIGHLY recommend their Pistachio ice cream if your having lunch in the lido. They had it a couple of times on our cruise and it was remarkable. So smooth, so creamy, so yummy. :D

the pasta station in the Lido is awesome; the pizza is wonderful, and the low fat dressings for salads are the very best. (wonder what they are?)
We ate lunch only once in the dining room because I don't want to spend alot of time in there during the day. It was good but I liked the buffet for lunch.

 Why is OP being sent to Lido for lunch? The question asked was about the Dining Room. :D
Any reason they should not go to the Dining Room if that is what they prefer?

(....the days it is open, of course.)

pistachio ice cream? yum.

Pistachio is a pretty mild flavor for the HAL Lido! I've had Clove, Cinnamon, etc.

Deeeeelicious! And I've never found these flavors anywhere else!

Speaking of movies, what is showing onboard these days?
