Has anyone tried to recently book a cabana on HMC and instead of having a confirmation number given to them, the cabana is now listed as "waitlisted"? I booked the green cabana for next March and although my travel agent says that HAL assures her that I will have it once I get there, they can't seem to offer me a confirmation number and it is listed as Available (waitlisted) on the shore excursions section of the HAL site. It would be a shame if the butler service that my brother purchased for that cruise doesn't have a cabana to go along with it. :(

When we were at HMC a few weeks ago, we found all of the cabanas under repair/rebuilding. It seems HAL is wisely being cautious about booking future reservations until they are sure they are 'up and running'. If the cabana is not ready, it is safe to say your brother will not be having butler service. I am sure they will issue him an appropriate credit.


However....I truly think the cabanas will, very shortly, be available again and the 'waitlist reservations' will be issued a confirmation number at that time.

Yes... we booked the Turquoise Cabana for 11/7 and the Excursion Page says "waitlisted". I contacted Ship Services and he said they are changing computer programs and for now all are designated as "waitlisted". I got the impression it doesn't have anything to do with the condition of the cabanas.

I was also told not to worry about the "waitlisted" status, that it is a glitch in the software. Cabanas are now booked with the other shore excursions on the website rather than in Ship Services. We have reserved the Orange cabana in December and it also indicates waitlisted, hopefully it will work our fine!:cool:

I booked the pink cabana for the Nov. 9 cruise on Prinsendam. On the website, it says "Available" in my reservation.

Make sure you haven't reserved one cabana for all members of your party. Only one has to reserve it and it is good for up to 4 persons. First, I made that mistake and also booked it for my friend, for him the cabana then was shown as waitlisted...
