Zaandam noro type illness on current cruise

# Predominant symptoms: diarrhea and vomiting
# Actions: In response to the outbreak, Holland America Line and the crew aboard the ship took the following actions:

* increased cleaning and disinfection procedures,
* notified passengers onboard the ship,
* staffed the ship with a senior medical specialist for additional support,
* will notify oncoming passengers,
* will staff the ship with an additional cleaning crew in San Diego,
* collected stool specimens for analysis.

# Holland America Line will continue to report the number of ill people to CDC until the number of ill people returns to expected levels.

Well, it seems to be the season for this bug. I hope most were able to fend it off during their Hawaii visit. While it's not good by any means to be ill, it's better during the sea days with respect to not having to miss ports of call because you're sick.

Yes. We sailed under code red on Zaandam last April. As my CC friend, Phoeb, said "Just a little inconvience for some good health".

Boarding was delayed in San Diego. However, passengers got free city tours while waiting, and the option to cancel with a full refund.

No one came down with Noro on our cruise.

It is our favorite cruise so far. :)
