Have any of you ever bought from the "made to measure" tailuor on board? If so, were you satisfied with the result?

Are they still there? Now that you mention them, I do not recall seeing them during our last few cruises. I never, ever saw them working with a single person who looked like a potential customer. I wonder if they were a 'booming success'??

They were on the Volendam a year ago, set up in the Atrium outside the Ocean bar. At least, the fabric and style books were there. Now I can't even recall the name although I do believe it was a Hong Kong tailor.

Believe they are Davanti, out of HK. I had intended to check them out next month if they are still about. I'll report back if noone has more recent info.

No longer on Maasdam. Front desk was unwilling to speak for the entire fleet, but "didn't think they were still aboard any of our ships". It was, in fact, Davanti.
Hope this helps.
See, I keep track.

The Davanti Taylors are long gone from HAL. Don't think they enough business to warrent being on the cruise ships.
We did not see them on our Oosterdam (Feb/Mar 2004), Maasdam (May 2004) or Statendam (Oct/Nov 2004) cruises. And now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing them on our Nov 2003 Maasdam cruises.

Their display table was on the Volendam in Oct. '03 but I never saw anyone manning (personning?) it.
Ah well, guess I'll find something else to spend my money on...

Davanti were on Celebrity Millennium October 24 to November 21, 2004. The Sales rep was at her station at all times when the Shops were open on board, with the exception of one hour for supper on sea days. We did see quite a few people (customers?) at this desk. We ordered made to measure from her and we'll let you know how successful this was when we receive the items.

Thanks. They do seem to have dropped off HAL, but we'll be on the Infinity next fall, so....

They were on the Celebrity Galaxy New Year's voyage. THe materials are nice but they are very expensive so we did not order anything. THey wanted almost $500 to make a blazer for my husband.

In my limited experience, $500 is inexpensive for a bespoke blazer.
