Great photos! Thanks for sharing! We watched your ship on the webcam go thru the locks! We were watching the Zaandam with RevNeal on it, and we spotted the "O"dam so we watched that ship too hehehehe :)

Loved your picture, both DH and I viewed them together. We were on the Oosterdam this past May in Alaska. It would be neat if there was a way to blow up the one picture you have of the Zaandam just ahead of you. You might just be able to see Revneal taking pictures of the Oosterdam:eek: You got some great pictures. I would love to take that cruise just can't take that many days off of work:(

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures, hope you loved the Oosterdam as much as we did.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures. You got some great shots of the Oosterdam and the Zaandam. The photo of the Queen Mary is of the original QM, isn't it? I'm assuming you took it in Long Beach.

It looks like a great trip. The Tikal pix have a gray-black cast to the stone, it looks different from other Mayan ruins, are they Mayan?

Thanks again, I really enjoyed them.

Wonderful photos!!! We were sailing with you & recognize you both from your pictures.
We flew back to Vancouver to spend some more time with my elderly Mother before driving home to Calgary. Just arrived home Friday, so have not done anything yet with our photos. If they are anywhere near as good as yours, we will be most pleased.

Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures you took. I did watch your ship go through the Canal. I was able to get into the Cameras of the Ship behind you and got a different angle as you went through. I also saw the Zaandam go through. As you know one of the pax on the Zandaam was Rev. Greg Neal. Glad you enjoyed the cruise. May the next 25 be even better and faster than the last 25 years.

It's the original Queen Mary in Long Beach. Quite a contrast with the Oosterdam.

The ruins are Mayan. The site has been abandoned for over 1000 years and was reclaimed by jungle. These pictures show just the parts that have been uncovered. The original plaster stucco that covered the outside of these buildings have all been worn away or destroyed by the jungle encrouchment. the buildings are buried deep in dirt in the jungle.

It's a Canon Power Shot Pro1 (8.1 megapixels) I bought it just before we left on this trip and I'm still trying to figure out all it's features.

Yknot,

THANK YOU for your photos! I'm about 3/4 of the way through processing my 1400 photos, choosing the best hundred to upload. :) I've got dozens of photos of the Oosterdam, some of which will be posted, so watch for them! Also, if you see any you'd like print-quality photos of, let me know and I'll be happy to email 'em to you!

Also ... I think you actually got a photo of me. :)
It's the shot you took of the Zaandam as we were going through the Gatun locks ahead of you. I'm on the lower observation deck -- main deck aft. Could you send to me via email

revneal@aol.com

the original/highest resolution file of this photo. I tried zooming in, but you'd reduced the pixels and I'm all fuzzy ... you can tell someone is there, but you can't tell who it is. A full size copy of that photo (unprocessed for the internet) should show me. :) I'm right above the final "D" in "ZAANDAM."

Thanks!

Anton & Karen:
Terrific photos! I love the one of Anton "reading" on the deck; that's how I like to read, too. I am curious to know about your cabin since we are sailing on the Oosterdam in May. From the one shot of Karen on the verandah, it looks like yours is kind of on the corner, where the deck pinches in at the middle??
Was that a good location? We picked one of those cabins thinking it looked like it had a bit more room on the balcony.

We were is Deluxe Suite 7088 (port side). It was where the ship pinches in and our suite was part of the pinch.

Pros: a few more square feet in the room - extra floor space by the closets by the entry - your view is of two directions, directly out from the ship and at a 45 degree angle forward - you can look directly down to the water which was great for watching for turtles and your view is better if you like watching them haul tenders and such, it was great for viewing the panama canal transit - a little extra verandah space

Cons: view from the door is on the bed and not the couch like the other suites - it can get windy on the verandah when you are fully underway because you are not as protected as the suites pushed back into the ship.

Thanks for the info on room #. I might re-think our booking, which is SS8099,
starboard. Of course, it will probably not be sun-bathing weather in Alaska in May. I thought we might have better sightlines for viewing glaciers and such, as we sat huddled up with jackets and blankets.
It's our first cruise in many years, and I want it to be a really nice experience.

Thanks so much for posting your pictures - - They're beautiful!

We're sailing on the Oosterdam Nov.28th -- Could I ask you as question re. the "S" suite? Is there a DVD/CD player? We'd love to brings CDs, but want to be sure we can play them....Also, I heard there was a movie library -- Do you know where it is??

The "S" suite had both a DVD and CD player. The DVD library was accessed through the concierge lounge. Just tell them which movies you want and they will deliver.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos with us. We only have a Canon Powershot A70 and won't have the ability to take such fine pictures as your. I think I will keep an eye on one of those Cannon Powershot Pro1.

We will be on the Oosterdam in January sailing to Eastern Carribean. How was Totorla?

There is not a whole lot in Road Town. I reccomend Long Bay for a beach and the views are beautiful from the ridge road and Shaw peak.
