We will be on the Maasdam March 13-27th and want to have at least one dinner at the Grill.

Can we wait until we board to make this reservation or should it be done now to ensure it?

Does anyone who has taken this cruise recently have any recommendations regarding a good night for this? We don't want to miss anything special in the main dining room.

Thanks and Happy Sailing!

Hey, Mszula - come join our Roll Call. We're nearly 40 people, and would love to have you as a part of our group. Lots of fun stuff going on! You can find us at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=862697&page=6

As for good Pinnacle Grill days - I have the dailys from last November and will let you know what I find.

My .02:

We've prepaid reservations by calling HAL gift order dept ... this way we got the $20/pp price which is still listed on the gift order form. (And we've already paid, so the charge doesn't show on our onboard account.)

When we get onboard, we visit or phone the Pinnacle and make our actual reservations.

We like to be on deck when the ship sails from a port, so we take that time into account when making our reservations.

You will have vouchers/coupons in your cabin for what you've prepaid.

Hope that helps, at least a little....

Thanks to both of you. Donna, will look forward to what you discover. I will go sign up on the roll call.. I had seen it; but the meet and greet is when I will bolted to a chair by the pool that I won't be leaving all day long. After a long cold Montana winter.. nothing will make me go inside that day, especially on a cruise with only 2 At Sea days. Hopefully, we can catch up some other time on the cruise. Would love to meet all of you fun folks.

Thanks again.

You could book in advance (at 800-541-1576) with a specific day/time and change it on-board if necessary.

OK, if you count Friday, March 13 as Day 1, Formal Nights were on Days 2-6-10-13. The Master Chef's Farewell Dinner was day 14. All other nights are Smart Casual. Hope this helps a little.

As for being bolted to a poolside chair - Good For You! Sounds like a delightful place to enjoy that sunshine, though we'd love to see you wander indoors for an hour if you need a break. :)

Thanks for the great info. We have made our choice based on what you had to say.

I would LOVE to come in for an hour or so that first day; but then you have the whole "chair hog" situation going on. Once we hit those chairs... we never leave them unattended.

Can you tell that I'm a confirmed rule follower?

I may be able to convince DH to hold down the "fort" for awhile on that day. ;)
