I am posting this on the HAL Board because the Key West section does not seem to get much activity. I'll be in Key West this weekend and wonder if anyone can tell me about the little miniature "cars" that can be rented. What are they called? Where can I go to rent one to drive around Key West? Should I call somewhere to reserve one in advance? Are they as much fun as they look? Any idea on cost? Thanks so much. Sailing in 4 days and can hardly wait!

We were in Key West 2 weeks ago. We looked into this, and plan to rent one on our next visit there next Spring. We talked to the people at Reef Mobile, Inc., at 501 Greene St(across the street from Sloppy Joes) 305- 294-856, open 9AM - 10pm. They suggested we call ahead and reserve one, which we will do. Attached to the flyer is a coupon for ONE hour free, with at least a 2 HOUR minimum. Ask them for this offer. Here are some of the rates, also their website is www.ReefMobile.com :
TWO SEATERS: $29.00 per hour, 2 hour minimum
HALF DAY RENTALS: $89.00, 4 hour max
FULL DAY RENTALS: $119.00, 8 hr max
FOUR SEATERS: $39.00 per hour, 2 hour minimum
HALF DAY RENTAL $129.00, 4 hour max
all rates do not include tax of 7.5%
Hope this helps, there are more rental rates, but I am running out the door.
They seemed very nice and we WILL do business with them.
Enjoy Key West, we love it!
