View Full Version : Need to burn time in Tampa

Our boat gets in around 9am and our flight leaves at 4:50pm.

Could anyone help me with questions about---

About how long will it take us to get off the boat?

Is there a place to leave luggage?

What are some fun things to do before we have to get to the airport?

What time should we be to the airport before our planes leaves at 4:50pm?

This is our honeymoon and we are really wanting to pack in as much as we can before we go home. We will also be in the city 2 days before our ship leaves-- Any suggestions on hotels and things to do would be so helpful!!!!!

I believe you should plan on being at the airport 2 hrs before your flight. Right at the port of Tampa is Channelside. The Tampa Bay Aquarium is located there.
I contacted the Florida Aquarium & the very nice lady told me that they will hold your luggage for you for No Charge as long as you purchase an admission to the Aquarium, which we are planning to do. Now you would have to schlep your luggage next door to them by yourself, but I believe my hubby & I will be able to do that.
Then I called Tampa Bay Shuttle & asked if they could pick us up at 1:30PM for our trip to the airport. Our plane is at 3:45PM. Now we booked this shuttle service directly ourselves, not thru Carnival, but thought it might be of interest to some.

We were in a similiar situation last March, except our plane didn't leave until after 6:00 pm. We couldn't even check our luggage until six hours before takeoff. The information above on the aquarium is correct. I would then take a cab to the airport. What we did was checked with the bell captain at the hotel we stayed at pre-cruise, and went back to the hotel and checked our bags there. (Radisson Riverwalk, $55 on Priceline) We then took their shuttle to the aquarium and back. For the rest of the afternoon we sat around the pool before taking a cab to the airport.
