My wife and I will be leaving Vancouver on May 31, 2009 for a 14-day HAL cruisetour #17 on the Veendam to Alaska. Can anyone tell me which hotel HAL refers to in Seward when they say our stay will be at a beautiful secluded lodge. I know that we will be staying at the McKinley Chalet Resort at the Denali Park entrance for 2 nights. Does anyone also know which hotel HAL uses in Anchorage and Fairbanks? Thanks!!

Does anyone also know which hotel HAL uses in Anchorage and Fairbanks? Thanks!!Generally the Westmark, which HAL owns. If they're full then other hotels are used.

I can't tell you anything about Seward hotel/lodge though. We thought the McKinley Chalet was pretty nice, but we lucked out and got the newest building.

The Aleyska resort is probably the lodge they are talking about. We stayed there in Sept on our cruise tour with HAL. It was a fabulous property. Upon o ur arrival everyone was talking about the tours they were going to do. We looked at eachother and said" we're not leaving these grounds for 2 days" We totally enjoyed the property -massages, restaurants, shops, etc. Hopefully you will get to stay there. It was great. Did I already say that? lol

I can't help you with the name of the lodge in Seward, but we have always been put at the Hilton in Anchorage (they do also use the Westmark, but Hilton is their primary hotel), and the Westmark in Fairbanks. I know it will not be the Alyeska because that is much closer to Anchorage and is not used as a Seward hotel property.
