Sailing in less than 2 weeks on Veendam. Booked HH (or was it just H?) outside guarantee & finally got our cabin assignment - DA643, deck 2. Any comments, thoughts, etc., on this cabin, location, etc.? Looks like it's a triple, right across from stairs, etc... something else... and maybe the laundry? Yikes.

Funny how having the cabin number on the reservation makes it somehow more real... :p

Appreciate any input on this cabin. Thanks!

Congratulations on getting your cabin assignment.

The area right across from your cabin looks to be a storage area and right next to it looks to be the area that the crew uses to go from deck to deck.

There isn't a laundry area there.

A good upgrade, IMO! Congrats! When we booked an HH on the Veendam we only got an upgrade to FF.

Your nearest launderette is down near cabin 550, and I'd guess that's a steward's supply room across the hall from you.

Now that I've had time to look at the chart, this appears to be a fine location. Straight up the elevators to Lido, pool, etc., one flight from Promenade and just two flights up to dining room (which means we gotta take the stairs to and from meals... lol! :D). Could do worse. We've had near-aft on other ships and found we liked them a lot. 'Course, never had the promenade just above us... wonder if we'll get noise... anyway...

Any other input on this cabin, "triple" cabins (are they the same size as others, but the sofa is a fold-out?), or photos will be most appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, your stateroom is called a triple because the sofa can be made up as a bed.

I know what you mean about taking the stairs up to the promenade deck and to the dining room. The extra steps help burn a calorie or two.

Have a wonderful time on the Veendam. I know the crew will make you feel right at home.

We'll try to have some good Florida weather for you.

Well hi neighbor.:) We're just over the bridge in Manatee County.
Isn't it nice to be able to sail out of Tampa?

We booked an H and got upgraded to a D. Think that's a good result for us.

Hi. Yes, what limited ships sail from Tampa... we prefer eastern carib itineraries (and 7 nights instead of 5...), but what can ya do. beats working. :D
