Hello to you all!
Yesterday evening I asked the following question: What are the selection of games available on the Noordam. Is there enough games of backgammon! At what point do we book these games. Is there a deposit required?
Cribbage board, deck of cards (did they supply it)
Any Monopoly, Scrabble, Risk or other..?
I don't like chess, sudoku and crossword puzzle.
Other comments on this subject?

Cards are not free -- you can buy them in the gift shop/
There are lots of board games like scrabble, etc.
You can check them out at the Explorations Cafe -- the librarian there has them -- no fee. You usually have to turn them back in when are done playing your game.

haha well it was on a 10day cruise in december in 2008 (absolutely beautiful!) and i went to the library quite regulary to get sudoku and to look at the books, play chess and work on the huge jigsaw puzzle they have there and found it really quite uncomfortable when i walked in the library every time! the librarian, a male with glasses and light brown hair looked at my sister and i in a way he really shouldnt have..me and my sister had a chuckle about it later but it wasnt really fun at the time. have you had any situations like that whilst cruising?

That should be reported to the hotel managers! No one should be made to feel uncomfortable.
3 years ago on the Serenade of the Seas, our dinning room waiter would always rest a hand on my Aunt's shoulders. It happened a lot, so we switched seats so she was up against the railing and we thought it would be more difficult for the waiter to do this, but he actually pushed past my chair to stand behind her and rest a hand on her shoulders. When we left the dining room I asked for the Maitre 'd and complained. The Maitre 'd said he was just trying to be 'friendly' with his guests, I explained that it made everyone at the table uncomfortable and should never happen. The next night we were assigned a new table.

Thanks for the story.
So far we have not encountered anything like that.
But if we did -- I can assure that we would be talking to the Guest Relations Manager about the situation.

gentlemancruiser, thats not a very nice situation is it! especially as the waiter pushed past your chair to do it..wouldn't he realise how weird it looked? also when i was on the noordam on the lower deck walking to the reception to get my card fixed because it wouldnt open my door, i walked past a crew member who said hello, i said hello and then he asked me where i was going? but it was in a really weird way! not like a 'where are you going?':), but a 'where are you going?' kind of way..i was just like..um to the reception?
on a cruise on the nile in 2005 the cabin steward acted in a way he really shouldnt have - when he walked past me to get into my room he made inappropriate contact in an obvious way.
i think its definitely worth reporting cases like that in the future
