What time do the last passengers get off the ship? I enjoy getting of last. In this way it's easier to find my bags and there is far less of a crowd trying to get a cab.

Should be cleared by l0:30 or so...if not sooner.

Also, what is the earliest you can get off? I'm trying to book a flight home and not sure how early we should book it. We have an S suite so I am thinking we can disembark early if we need to, but I'm not sure. We've never splurged before in a suite and this is our first HAL cruise.

Dinso: do not book before 12:00 noon. This way if there are any delays you should still make the flight.

I agree it's best not to book anything earlier than noon.

You can request early disembarkation with an early flight, and PS and S suites can get off whenever they want.

But if the ship is delayed getting back to port and there are delays with immigration and customs, even early disembarkation might not help.

Play it safe, and possibly eliminate some unneeded stress, and book after noon.

On one cruise, we had a mid-afternoon flight and so we hung around up in the Crow's Nest and it was very nice to leave w/o any crowd or hassle with luggage. There were several of the operating crew, seamen, chipping away at rusty paint up on the Sky Deck above and outside on the Sports Deck, for background "music". I think we finally left when they asked all remaining passengers to disembark. It was a very relaxing departure from the Ryndam that day.

Bill S, what time did you finally leave?

If I recall correctly, it was after 10am. We were in San Diego and had made our own air arrangements. It was just fun to walk around on the Sports Deck and have it all to ourselves for a while and enjoying the view of San Diego!

This really doesn't reflect on HAL, but we disembarked in San Diego from RCI Legend 2 years ago. As it was our home port they probably put us next to last getting off the ship. DH played the piano in the Crow's Nest (or whatever RCI calls it) while I roamed around the ship. I ended up taking pics of the Royal Suite on a self guided tour. It was amazing! Some day we'll have a suite with a piano, sound system, and the whole nine yards!
