Last July 2 I took my granddaughter on an Alaskan cruise and also the land portion of the tour. She participated in the 'Ambassadors of the Environment' program and they took pictures at the various events. When we returned home, the disk they gave us did not work at all- not on the computer or tv. As I had planned to use these pictures along with those we had taken to make a nice album for her for Christmas, I sent a letter to Regent explaining the problem. They promised I would receive another disc shortly. Come February (Christmas is long gone) I STILL had not heard from them so I sent ANOTHER letter, again the same response. This letter was sent Feb. 2 and now on the 16th of March, I have yet to hear from them. Needless to say her birthday is past as is Christmas and the album is minus those photos. An honest response from Regent would have been appropriate. I had paid a premium price for this trip and they really don't seem to give a hoot at all. Very disappointed. Although I could bring up other issues encountered on this journey, I am very let down by the lackadaisacal response and lack of follow up from Regent on this one item. It meant a lot to me to be able to do this for her but Regent is very nonresponsive. So be aware.

Did you ever try calling them or your TA on the phone?

no I did not cl or contact TA - in hindsight I guess I should have. I have sent two letters and two emails. Response has been same - 'sorry, we will send it out'. Also, on a shore excursion an obviously physically challenged person was allowed to book with no one telling her there would be a loooong walk back from the raptor center. Finally they had to call her a taxi as there was no way she could walk that far. I was hard pressed to do so myself and had I known there was that amount of walking I would not have gone. Also the ship docked late one day and the lobby was absolute chaos with people pushing and shoving and trying to get off ship to reach shore excursions. The personnel had no handle on this at all and as a result it was pandemonium!

Just my 11 yr old granddaughter and myself were on this cruise, and I must tell you we were made to feel like 'second class citizens' in two restaurants onboard. I was challenged about her eating 'adult' food (which she does all of the time) and in fact since there was only 2 of us I was paying adult fare for her - she was NOT 'free.' I brought her to the Mariner Club one day and there were no other children there, the counselor said 'well sit here, someone will show up or I will bring you to a TV.' I guess I am getting picky but it just wasn't the experience I had hoped for. Alaska itself was amazing and I would return in a heartbeat - just not on Regent.

My previous cruise experiences have been on Silversea, Celebrity, NCL and Disney. I can honestly say that on each and every one of these ships I felt much more comfortable than the treatment from Regent. I did love the size of the staterooms though, very much like Silverseas.
