Sailing on HAL's Noordam 9/16/09. Anyone have experience with their "anytime dining"?

Not on the Noordam but on the Eurodam. Generally our experience was positive. The food was good, as good as regular dining and the service was again good.

We had one bad experience where they attempted to seat us at a table with 2 ladies who did NOT want anyone to sit at THEIR table but other than that we enjoyed the experience.

That night they seated us at a table for 10 and the people were all normal and nice not like the 2 ladies.

We complained to the pursor's desk and were told the 2 ladies had already been a problem and they apoligized for what happened to us.

We had tables for 2 several nights when we asked for them and other nights we sat with others and enjoyed the company.

You can call during the day and request a time and table size for dining and generally you will get it. You can also organize a group and sit together every night at the same table at the same time with the same waiters (mostly). That is the same as fixed dining but you won't be in the dining room as long unless you stretch it out yourself.

Have a great next cruise.

First of all . .congratulations ...
There are pros and cons and you should peruse the threads on this subject to see them all ad nauseum. We prefer fixed seating only because my wife has allergies and must be careful what she eats - so, same waiters every night guaranteed is important - and we dont want to have to deal with worrying about that. Otherwise, we have seen many happy folks with that form of dining as you pretty much can go to dinner when you are darn good and ready to.

Many thanks. Exactly what we were looking for.
