Are all the balconies on the (Verandah rooms) Vista class ships of the same size? Can the dividers be removed to make one long balcony?

Are all the balconies on the (Verandah rooms) Vista class ships of the same size? Can the dividers be removed to make one long balcony? No, they differ. The side VA/VB/VC are 6'x9', the deck 5 VE&VF are 4.5'x9', and the deck 4 VD&VF are 7.5'x9'. The stern (wake-facing) VA and VB are still deeper (up to 10') and will vary depending on ship and deck.

The partitions cannot be removed, but can be partially opened. Here is a picture showing two opened. These are VCs on deck 5 forward. Note how deck 4 protrudes by 1.5 ft.

You are traveling with friends who have cabins next to you??

Otherwise the people on each side of you are not going to want to open that small partition door.

Will the HAL agent know which cabins have larger verandahs when we call to book?

No, they won't.
They'll barely know where the stateroom is located.

I suggest you do your research ahead of time as to which type of stateroom you need based on your veranda size wishes. Study the deck plans and the categories and veranda size before you book.

Make sure you are very clear about the ship you want to sail, too. Mistakes happen. It's kind of like when my parents sent a deposit to the wrong college for me. It changed my life. However, I am pretty sure the wrong cruise won't necessarily change your life.

Seawatch, how can you be sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam 6/18/2010? It's not even ready then!
