View Full Version : How do we find a "good" Regent TA?

A real newbie question. Over the years, we have cruised 5 times on the "mass market" cruise lines. Each time we used the "generic, "I do everything travel agent" where we lived. The TA was not a real "cruise" TA, just your local office. We always heard--"I never been on that cruise, but I'm sure you'll like it" comments. The cruises were alright at the time. But now we want to "step up" on go on a real "luxury" cruise and use a TA that specializes in that type of trip. There are so many online sites, that we don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Ponybear, it is not permitted by CC guidelines to recommend a particular TA...suggest
you go the special cruise issue of Conde Naste Traveller or CN Gold List (you can also access via google) Wendy Perrin (cruise writer) makes a number of recommendations
for TA's who specialize in Regent. Good luck

Wes is right, we can't recommend a TA, or even hint at one, or the thread will get deleted.
Do some googling of appropriate terms, go to some website, poke around, and then call them up and talk to them, or email them. You'll get a feeling about them that way. Look for someone with specific experience with the luxury lines., with staff who know the ships.
I found mine via this board, but rules are stricter now, and TA's can't even mention who they are any more.

I'd look at Conde Nast and see who they recommend as experts. joyous

When I was interested in the first cruise we took on Regent, they had a feature which recommended travel agents by zip code. I used the name that came up, and they are a boutique firm which knows Regent well. I've been very happy with them for both cruise and other travel. Does the Regent site no longer have this feature?

Yeh, they still have that. It's a link at the bottom of the home page.
