Do all of the staterooms in the Statendam Class ships have DVD players in them?

Will they play Music CD's?

Every cabin on every HAL ship has a DVD. So, the answer to your first question is yes, there's a DVD in your cabin on the Statendam.
I don't know if they play music CDs as I don't use the DVD.

Thanks Ruth, I'm going to buy some DVD's before we leave.

Yes they play music....that is all we used it for. Although, the ships music channel is very good and sometimes we just listened to their music.

Ruth, in searching this thread I came upon your partial answer to my question about DVDs adn DVD players. I assume even steerage inner cabins will have a DVD from your reply below?

Do HAL ships have a reasonable selection of DVDs for rent for young children? Our grandkids will be between 2 and 12 for our big family cruise.
Thanks in advance from another Ruth (we are of a certain era are we not?)

Even steerage---another thing we have in common! But, as I said, I don't use the DVD (I don't watch TV on a cruise), so I don't know anything about the selection of DVDs.

You're welcome. (mine's Victorian. ;))

Ruth, with three grandchildren in each of three cabins, it might help them to settle easier with a DVD before bedtime. We've booked 7 inner cabins with 3 pairs of interconnecting for Alaska 2010.

We're hoping that prices might come down before we sail, but with our need for connecting cabins we're locked into these choices.

We actually rented a couple of DVDs on a 30 day HAL cruise when we didn't want to go to the evening shows. But I never thought to look through family titles.

Thank you for your prompt reply,

Ruth - named from the Old Testament Ruth, which could well have been your Victorian origins.
