Anyone just off the Ryndam? Please let us know what you think of the new and improved Ryndam?

What did you like? Anything you didn't like?

Several of us are waiting for your comments, with baited breath.

Thanks in advance.

We were on the RYndam today attending a travel agent tour and luncheon and the Ryndam is awesome! We are sailing on her November 27 so we were especially interested to see all of the improvements. The Crows Nest is gorgeous with fabulous leather lounge chairs. The cabins look beautiful and the Neptune Lounge is exquisite. The entire ship looks brand new and wherever you look she is a beauty. There is absolutely nothing that we did not like. Club HAL and the teen area are fabulous and the theater is incredible. We cannot imagine any ship prettier than she is.

Karen and Bob, Thanks so very much for the update. We are getting really excited in less than 2 weeks we will be boarding her. I guess what makes it even more exciting is the fact this will be our first Suite so it is nice to hear that the Neptune Lounge is exquiste. Did you possibly take any pictures?

Buck thanks for posting this thread.

Any others out there that just got off the Ryndam or go to attend a tour?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry, but we did not take any pictures as there are now many pictures of the new Ryndam posted on the Holland America site. You will be amazed at how gorgeous this ship is. Whenever you are sailing, have a great cruise! Anyone sailing with us on November 27th?

Can't wait to see her. I little bird told me that Ryndam might be sailing from Tampa in 2006. Nice 14 day Caribbean.

Aloha Atseadaze - thanks for all the great info - we are sailing after Lisa (above) and just before you Karen & Bob (above) - anyone else sailing with us? No answer to my post on the roll calls, so sad! My TA also mentioned that the Ryndam tour was excellent and that the ship is a beautyany other reports?

Hi, I just got an email from Mary who boarded the Ryndam yesterday, she said I could post her email to the CC Board.

Here is her email

The ship is beautiful but internet costs are higher than Alaska by about 20 cents a minute so will be fairly brief.

Sat - Casual
Sun Formal
Mond Informal
Tues Casual
Weds Casual - Dutch Night
Thurs Formal
Friday Casual

I think may be different next week though as our port days are different this week we are in port. Monday, Tues and Weds

The ship is beautiful and everything is so clean, freshly painted and lots of new carpeting. New great lounge padded chairs by pool. The Crows Nest is awesome with lots of new furniture. Flat screen tvs in rooms and all around the ships. The bedding and linens are fabulous. The Explroation Cafe is very nice with prices ranging from 1.35 - 175 for small and 1.75- 1.95 for larges. Lots of people are using it. It is alot like a small Barnes and Noble as that is where all the books, videos and internet are as well.

Our dining assignment is great but lots of people were having trouble yesterday with wrong seating. We are at table a which is on the upper level very middle of the rail. It will be our table next week too as it is a table for 4 and we will be sharing it with our friends.

Lots more tv chanels

Can make your pinnacle reservation in the terminal in San Diego before you check in.

Hope that answers most of your questions. I'll try to check in port some day to see if you have written. Otherwise I'll see you Saturday or no later than Sunday in the crows nest.

Walked by the outside of your cabin and it looks nice from there.

Mary & Don

This all sounds really exciting, It is a very cold and nasty and rainy day here in Las Vegas. In a few minutes I have to leave to do a must before the cruise and that is a Pedicure, but it is sooooo cold out. Them when I get home, out come the suit cases and I will start to figure out what I will be packing. It just seems hard to figure out what to pack when it is cold here. I will email Mary to have her tell us how warm it really is. I will also be pulling out the Sharpe to fill out the luggage tags.:D
For all those interested I plan to take lots of photos of the inside of the Ryndam including some of the cabins and I will post them on Webshots when we return so all can see. Seeing the inside is what interests a lot of people and not that many pictures out there. I hope to capture pictures that those who sailed her previous can see the difference.

O-O-O-O, Lisa. Pictures of the inside of the "new and improved" Ryndam sounds good. I'm sure many of us want to take a peek so we'll know if it truly is new and improved.

Thanks for the offer. (how "cold" is "cold"?)

How cold is cold? Well currently it is 56 degree at 5:54 pm and raining. By tomorrow morning it will be in the mid 40's but with being wet out it feels a lot colder. It makes it hard to think it will be warm on the cruise, hopefully Mary will report on the temps and the seas:)
