On Celebrity cruise critic site there is a url for signing up for CC parties. What is available for HAL sign ups? I cannot find a reference to this?? We are on the 11/1/09 Westerdam.

I thought there was a roll call for you cruise but I did not see one posted to link you to. You can start your own roll call just go the home page and find the roll call listings. Once there click on the Westerdam and start your thread. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I guess HAL has no formal set up for getting a party together. Ex. 25 CCers on Celebrity equals a definite time for coffee and pastries along with a crew member. This seems informal. But with a little effort we can make it work. We are 7 alone and always enjoyed meeting CCers on the Celebrity cruises. We will sign into the Nov 1 connections.

Folks on the HAL Roll Calls have to organize and set up their own parties w/ HAL Shipservices.

My one cruise on Celebrity, the ship forgot to set up the party even tho it was in the daily program.

We are sailing on the Westerdam on 4/12. I contacted HAL Onboard Events and they were very responsive and have set up a Meet and Greet for our roll-call on the first day from 10:30am to 12:00pm. They will be serving coffee, tea, water and cookies all at no charge. Because it is Easter week we have a lot of children and teens on board. The teens are attending the M&G but just so parents can meet - then we're sending them to the Loft (teen room). The younger kids will stay with the adults or go to the HAL Club. I put together a 15 question Westerdam/Cruise Specific trivia game as an ice-breaker if we need it. I asked if HAL could provide prizes but they said if they did it for one they would have to do it for all, which is understandable. We also update our roll call list and M&G list regularly. I'll send M&G counts to HAL next week so they know how many to expect. Here is the email for HAL Onboard Events, HAL_Onboard_Events@HollandAmerica.com

Woody...Normally the person who starts the roll call will contact HAL about a month before departure & set up a Meet & Greet..When you join you might want to ask that person if he/she is planning a meet & greet..Give it time and your roll call will start to pick up in a few months, especially once final payment is made..

Cheers...:)Betty

HAL Shipboard Services are very good at this! I set one up on the Eurodam last week and very very few people showed up:mad: However the Cruise Director gave us drinks on his account and the Beverage Manager also showed up for a bit. Nice nibblies were also supplied by HAL. This was a class act from a classy Cruise Line. Now if they can jsut do something about the weather!:p

Not saying that this will necessarily happen to your group, but I organized the M&G on the Eurodam back in November. Much to my surprise, I got a call from the Hotel Mgr informing me that our party had been upgraded and we would have open bar for one hour. Wow, that was a nice surprise for us all!
